W.R.F.D AM Worthington, Ohio

I know as an artist, one of my favorite thing is to draw or paint with music.  Growing up we kids listened to rock/pop/soul music.  Must of the time it was W.N.C.I, of  QFM.96 Columbus.  On the AM stations it was 610W.T.V.N.  or W.C.O.L. or The  Delaware, Ohio Station.    Sometimes if we wanted to relax, we choose the station my grandparents used on FM W.B.N.S.  Classical it was W.O.S.U.
Even though we listened to easy listening, rock in the car when mom would drive, dad was never shy about listening to his country music.  Sometimes he would listen to our music Only if it was easy listening.

I remember how "Cool" it was to listen to the F.M Frequency, AM got to be you know "Lame" after while, must of the time it was all-talk or became all-talk.  So must of my years growing up it went from AM to all FM on the radio dial.   It wasn't until 1981, that I was making a " run around" on the dial that I switched it to AM, just out of boredom that came across a Contemporary Christian Music Station , W.R.F.D.  It was and still is a Crystal Clear frequency.  It caught my attention and I feel in love with the music.  Christian music seemed new to me then, even though it ha been around several years before that.
I had always loved singing the old Hymns in church, but that was mainly the only time you heard  the Hymns was at church. Since I started listening to W.R.F.D, I made several tapes of songs from the station, songs that almost all my family knew or became to know.  For Christmas and graduation, my sister would get me an album from one of the artist.   Whiteheart, 2nd Chapter Of Acts, Michael. W. Smith, Sandi Patti , Harvest and Larnelle Harris.  I was surprised that even some music artist that I grew up with on the pop, rock charts, crossed over to record Christian music Elvis Presley, Debbie Boone and B.J Thomas.  Even in Country Music, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Red Folely, Charlie Daniels and Lulu Roman Smith ( Hee-Haw).
On the F.M station, I started to listen to W.C.R.F and now 104.9 The River, but I still hold fond memories of the station that gave me a great love for Christian Music and started down a deeper path of love and appreciation for Christ.  W.R.F.D, AM WORTHINGTON, OHIO.

First song I ever heard on W.R.F.D was Dallas Holm"I Saw The Lord"
The artists and songs I will always treasure, I first heard on W.R.F.D
